Orthodox Music about Saint Nicholas

Part of the Saint Nicholas Page honoring Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker

[St. Nicholas]

Orthodox Music of Saint Nicholas

Orthodox services are conducted primarily in chant and song, so the hymns of the Orthodox Church are many and varied. Songs about Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker are heard mostly on the day of his commemoration, December 6. However, parishes dedicated to Saint Nicholas sing the Apolytikion (a hymn of a certain type) of Saint Nicholas almost every Divine Liturgy, omitting the hymn only on selected major feast days of the church year.
